Abstract

The analysis of ground potential distribution in the grounding system of an extended urban area during a single line-to-ground fault requires detailed modelling of its individual components. This includes the grounding systems of high-voltage power stations and transmission lines, as well as the grounding of the associated distribution network. In city transformer stations (TS 10/0.4 kV), the star point on the secondary side is often connected to ground (TNS, TNCS, and TT systems), while in industrial facilities, hospital operating theatres, and on ships, the star point of the secondary coil is isolated from ground (IT system).
